Happy New Years!

Happy New Years friends!  You are probably either still sleeping, wishing you were still sleeping or thinking about going to sleep. Drink, eat and sleep some more and you'll be good as new!

I closed Trixigirl a couple weeks ago for some time with my family and to travel.  The 2014 holiday season was like nothing I've ever had before.  I am still in awe of the people that support this small business.  They keep coming back!  It's like baby Target.  So thank you for making this past year the most successful one Trixiegirl has had.  But 2015 will be blowing that out of the water right? ;)

So my thoughts for a while were to clean things up in my shop.  Change and make better.  I started from scratch.  Like I was opening a new store.  I got rid of old things that were just hanging around cluttering up my shop.  It was kind of like deep cleaning a house.  (Which I also have to do.  blech.) Everything from new products, new pictures, new policies (is there a more fun word?), new attitude.

Here are some of my new favorite items:

What is your fav new item?  Is there anything you would like to see?
I do have a couple things coming this week that I will be adding.  Thanks for looking!

Up to my eyeballs

This is what's new. A ton of crocheting and wondering if I will ever have enough
for my Open House next weekend.
I will.
I will have more than enough.
If you can't make it because you don't live near me,
I will have the same deals online for Sunday only.  :)

So get your holiday list ready.  Wouldn't it feel good to get some items crossed off your list?

My purse always looks like this.

 Working at my garage sale.

This was next to me.  I made a good dent.  And have some new products for the Open House. :)

A couple of my favorite patterns.  I made a bunch of these cute earrings and other favs of mine.

An afternoon I wanted hot chocolate.  Not sure what the whipped cream had to do with it.

One very early morning.  I paid for this early morning. I think I might still be paying for it.

Such a fun blog post.  I'll try to do more crochet pics next time. ;)

Team cowls!

Go team!  Here are some options for you to wear to your favorite sporting event...even it you are just watching tv.  I thought I would make it a little bonus cowl.  You pic the color (any available but here are a few local favs) and you get an accent of shabby flowers to go on it!.  You can wear it alone, with the flowers or just wear the flowers on something.  I think it's such a fun idea!  I hope you do too!

First up to batt (just kidding!) is the Packers.  Let's be real, we know who rules the house I live in. ;) The cowl is yellow with an emerald green bunch of flowers to attach.

U of M.  That's the University of MN for those of you in Michigan who are confused.  This is maroon-ish red cowl that comes with a mustard yellow bunch of flowers to attach.

The vikings.  Eh.  ;)  I have 2 options.
The deeper purple above that comes with a mustard yellow bunch of flowers to attach.

The vikings also have a yellow cowl with a brighter purple bunch of flowers to attach.

So what do you think?
Let me know what sports teams colors you would like to wear
and I will make something sporty for ya!

Time for fall outfit ides!

It's almost time for my very favorite season: fall.  Cozy sweaters, leggings and boots are basically my uniform in the fall and winter.  I can't get enough.  Pair that with coffee and a snugly blanket.  You can find me on the couch for months. (that sounds kinda hermit-ish doesn't it?)

Fall might only last about a week here in MN before you know what comes.  I thought it would be fun to put together some outfit ideas to pair with your Trixiegirl accessories.  These are just ideas.  Just like that Pinterest folder you never go back to.  I really need to look at those!

Weekend Outfit
Everyone has or lives with someone that has a flannel shirt.  I really should have saved the 35 flannels that I had in college.  Pair a flannel/plaid shirt with some comfy jeans, a cream cowl and some booties and you will be comfortable and cute!
Trixiegirl cowl, dailylook shirt, jcrew jeans, ae booties

Dinner Date
I would wear this any time, but if you are a yoga pants girl (I think that means everyone), this is just a step up.  If you don't want to wear leggings, just wear some stretchy black pants or tights with a black tunic.   Put a long, warm sweater on, pull on some tall boots and top it off with some earrings. Totes Cute. (It's funnier when I say it outloud. Or if I was 9.)
Trixiegirl earrings, Free People sweater, Frye boots, Hue Leggings

Ball Game
I think I'm speaking to 99% of my friends with this one.  If I can't get a hold of a friend, I should just go look at the ball field.  Early morning comfort is key for those girls. I love this coat (my wallet doesn't), cute pants, shoes and the hat all of my friends love to wear.
I'm so thankful their kids play sports!
Trixiegirl hat, Lululemon jacket, Target pants, New Balance shoes

Casual Outfit
I love this outfit.  I love an army green coat or vest with anything.  It makes boring basic pieces, become a little more interesting.  Pair it with some earrings or a clip and some boots and
you're good to go!
Anthropologie outfit, Trixiegirl earrings and clip, Frye boots
.So, maybe you aren't ready for fall, but this will get your mind moving!

What is your favorite thing to wear in the fall?

New cowls are here!

I know you don't want to face it, but it's better to be prepared for the seasons ahead.  Here in MN, it's no joke.  The weather can be brutal.  And long.  And cold.  But before that comes fall and time to prepare and feel cute before the "I don't care what I look like phase as long as I'm warm" starts.

Here is the return of the cowl. They are easy.  A circular scarf with no figuring out.  You just pull it over your head and go.  They are super soft and washable.

Please be gentle with the model.  People like to see what these look like on.  You're welcome.;)

Here are the colors for this year!
This is a beautiful deep brick red.

The green is a nice gentle green.
Not bright, but soft.

It is a beautiful blue with hints of grey to tone it down.
This is not a navy.

Magenta is one of my favs this year.
So deep and rich.

Light lime green is how this is best described.
Soft. Not overwhelming

Didn't think I would love cream as much as I do.
It's very princess-like.

The camera doesn't do this one justice.
One of the colors that looks good on everyone.
Deep deep teal.

These cowls are croched by me.  Not a machine.  By my hands.  Thank you for always supporting me!  And they are $2 cheaper this year.  ;)

Here is the link.  Don't wait until it's too cold....;)
